. Having grown up in the family riding school in castleknock,
a passion for the sport developed at an early age .Early training was done at Iris Kellets riding school , and also with Col Sean Daly
who was o.c. of the army equitation school and chef d'equipe of the Irish show jumping
team .
Later help came from spells training with Capt Con Power and Tom Vance , both
renowned international riders .
However Johnny credits the late Paul Darragh as having
the most influence on him as a rider and coach . Johnny currently works closely
with Cian O Connor on a number of projects .

If horse riding is a hobby you wish to take up or you rode as a child but it has now been 20 years since you sat on a horse… This workshop is for you!
The aim of this workshop is to teach you basic instincts and reactions of these wonderful animals, alongside practical tasks such as grooming and tacking. Feeling comfortable on the ground beside the horse gives you greater confidence and understanding when you are riding.
The afternoon will also give you the chance to meet like minded people and make new friends. Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be served.
If you wish to join a group class after your experience, lesson timetables, vouchers and special offers will be available on the day.
