Lessons at Kilronan
At Kilronan we pride ourselves in our teaching . All our staff are fully qualified holding BHS teaching certification. In addition our staff receive regular training themselves so as to keep up to date and current in their teaching methods and knowledge base.
Group lessons are available for all levels and ages. Our group lessons are divided into children, teenagers and adults.
These lessons are graded as follows.
Beginner Never sat on a horse or pony before or just establishing rising trot.
Improver (children only) Just off a lead rein ready to begin canter.
Novice: Competent at walk , rising trot and canter
Intermediate : Competent at walk, trot, canter starting to jump.
Advanced : Able to ride a more challenging horse/ pony , improving flat work and control , jumping a small grid.
Group lesson prices : Child Beginner & Improver €20
Child & Teen Novice , Intermediate & Advanced €25 .
Adult Group Mid week €20 Adult Group Evenings & week ends €30
Family Discounts : Second child Beginner/Improver €16 Third child €10
Second child all other groups €20 Third child €16
At Kilronan we offer an extensive and flexible time table of group lessons for all levels & age groups. This leaves little time for private sessions, however if you are coming to join a class at Kilronan and feel a little nervous or unsure of your riding ability we can organise a private session to introduce you slowly and assess your ability.
These classes need to be booked through the office and are available Wednesday, Thursday & Friday from 10am to 2pm only.

Team building exercises , bonus packages or social club activities all can be facilitated at Kilronan. We have hosted activity days for several multinational companies in the area and are able to tailor make the equestrian experience to suit your requirements.
We can organise complimentary activities on site too such as archery (indoor or out door) or perhaps yoga.

Stable Lessons
There is a lot more to horse riding than just sitting in the saddle. At Kilronan we give you the option of taking our stable lessons.
Young or old we can teach you how to groom , tack up , control your horse or pony in the stable and yard environment and so much more.
Our stable lessons are based on the Association of Irish Riding Establishments proficiency tests syllabus and you can if you wish take a test to receive a certificate of completion .

School Groups
An equestrian program can be of great benefit to a school. We already have several schools in the area that avail of our facility. From crèche's to secondary schools, youth outreach programs and schools which cater for children with special needs. All have found proven benefit from incorporating an equestrian program into the school term.
At a basic level horse riding is a fitness activity that the majority of children will willingly participate in. Clients are engaged intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically. An equestrian program is not just about sitting on a horse, it develops team building, self respect and respect for others, and self confidence is a fantastic reward system and has other therapeutic values.
Kilronan can offer a tailor made program with certification at excellent rates to schools. Coach transfers can easily be arranged by us.
Rates start at €14 plus vat per child.
